Who this is for
New to Olympic Weightlifting?
The Olympic lifts — the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk — are technical skills. They need to be coached, not just watched on YouTube.
In three sessions you'll understand the movement sequence, build the positions, and know exactly what you're working on when you walk into a LiftRx class.

"Going in as an oly newbie was pretty intimidating — a lot of uncertainty at first. But from day one the Venus Weightlifting team has been incredibly supportive. The attention to detail in their coaching has made a huge difference: I've seen real improvements in both my confidence and technique under the bar."

"I have been lifting for a long time, and always felt pain in my left knee after a session. I'd ignore it and continue training, but it affected my progress. After a session with the weightlifting coaches, I forgot that I even had any pain! Now I know that I need to train for longevity, and that there's always a better and safer way to do what I love."

Powered by Venus Weightlifting
We coach using the Venus Weightlifting methodology — developed by Gabby Qu — which builds the lifts from the ground up: positions, timing, and sequencing before building up the weight.
Powered by the team at Venus Weightlifting Club, how we teach is rooted in the principles of Chinese Weightlifting. Each session focuses on developing efficient movement patterns, strength through full ranges of motion, and fluid coordination between body and bar. Sustainable technique, not just hitting numbers.

RxP is home to Thrive Healthcare — physiotherapists who work in the same space as our coaches. If you're managing an injury or returning to training after time off, your training plan accounts for where your body actually is, not where it should be in theory.
"I had an injury and went to Thrive for a physio check — the team is amazing and scheduled my appointment the same day.
The physio was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. After some magic with sticky tape I was able to walk properly the same day with minimal pain. She keeps guiding me with a plan of appropriate exercises and training strategy. Highly recommend."

I sprained my knee from tennis and it didn't heal as expected. I started working with one of the physios to strengthen so I could climb Mount KK — and I made it. After that I got back to tennis, working on strength, agility and speed. She helps you understand your body better and be more conscious physically and mentally. It also helps that Thrive is located in a gym so you can work with the equipment directly.

I've been seeing the team at Thrive Healthcare since my Achilles tendon operation — ruptured from netball. The team helped me retain muscle while the injury healed and release the pains and aches that came with it. They vary the exercises and keep every session challenging. They also come up with lots of scaling options so I could continue doing CrossFit and Weightlifting. Overall, I feel safe and assured working with them for my recovery.

Why Learn Olympic Weightlifting at Rx Performance?
Sessions are 60 minutes, one-on-one. Your first session starts with a movement and technical assessment: where you are now, what you're working toward, and what needs attention first.
From there, every session is structured around your current technical priorities. Your coach tracks your progress and adjusts the plan as you develop.
How it works
2. Assessment
Your coach reviews your goals, history, and movement baseline in Session 1
3. Personalized Training Plan
Sessions 2 and 3 build your technical foundation and set you on your path to improving in the sport
4. Get Better at Weightlifting!
By the end of the pack, you have a training plan, a class routine, and a clear picture of what's next
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Do I need to have lifted before?
No. The Starter Pack is designed to start from zero. Session 1 is a full movement baseline — there's no prerequisite.
What if I've been lifting but hit a plateau?
This is exactly who PerformRx is built for. Most olympic weightlifting plateaus are technical. Three coached sessions will identify and address them.
What's the Venus Weightlifting methodology?
Developed by Gabby Qu in Shanghai — a philosophy built around sustainable technique, with Chinese weightlifting methodology and Body Alignment Training. Every cue has a reason.
Do I need to see the physiotherapist too?
Only if necessary. Our coaches and physios work in the same space and communicate. If you're managing an injury, they'll coordinate from Session 1.
What happens after the 3 sessions?
We'll recommend the right ongoing structure — group LiftRx classes, continued PT, or a blend of both.
Is this only for competitive athletes?
No. Beginners are the primary audience. You don't need a competition goal — just a desire to learn the lifts properly.
