Short for Chinese Weightlifting, our C.W.L. classes are designed to build your weightlifting fundamentals from the bottom up, with a focus on technique, speed, and strength.

 

Run by the team at the Venus Weightlifting Club, you will receive expert guidance to ensure safe and efficient movements. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced lifter, our program caters to all levels of proficiency.

Why C.W.L.?

Unlike other weightlifting programmes which may place an emphasis on intensity, at C.W.L. (Chinese Weightlifting), we prioritize the development of proper technique, together with Venus Weightlifting's Body Alignment Training, to mitigate the risk of injury while simultaneously enhancing your maximal strength.

 

Our goal is to instill a solid foundation in weightlifting fundamentals that will serve as the bedrock for your progress and longevity in this discipline.

The Snatch

The SNATCH is the first of two lifts contested in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. The athlete lifts the barbell from the floor to a stable overhead position in a single action.

Clean and Jerk Weightlifting

The Clean & Jerk

The CLEAN AND JERK is the second of two lifts contested in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting. It is a two-part lift that involves lifting a barbell from the ground to the shoulders (the clean), then locking out the barbell overhead (the jerk).
